The first worship leader I ever met that had an anointing to consistently bring the presence of God was a guy called Luke Finch from England. AJ and I met Luke and his family while ministering in their church about five or six years ago. He was super humble, not interested in attention and would devote himself to passionately worshipping God no matter the size of audience.

The second worship leader I met just like that was Chris McClarney. Chris is incredible. He is humble and meek, he is not interested in attention and consistently ushers in the presence of God, week by week at Grace Center. Imagine my uncontrollable joy when I found out that Luke will be joining Chris here at Grace Center. I feel like the boy who just got an early Christmas present.
“If you do not believe what God has said about you, every other person you meet will be a threat to your identity.”
New article about the importance of believing what God says about you. There's also an audio download if you'd like it.
I've been in this season where I find myself crying when I think about the goodness of God. If you find it hard listening to grown men cry, you might want to skip this. Then again, it might be good for you to listen.
Our dear friend Christa Black launched her first book in bookstores everywhere. This is a stunner of a book, written by a stunner of a woman. Do yourself a favor and grab a copy while you stop by her website.
“I am extra careful around those who frequently criticize themselves, for they will “love their neighbor as they love themselves.””
Ugggh. Just waved my 5 year old off to kindergarten for her first day of school. Pretty horrible feeling loading her onto a bus knowing I won't see her again until 3.45pm. But she was going to have a first day sometime.
We were privileged to be asked to be the hosting church for the premiere of Father of Lights in Nashville tonight. Because Grace Center doesn't have enough room to host the 1,400 people who attended, we ended up hosting it at Rocketown in downtown Nashville.
It's a great movie; we were moved to tears and laughter. Congratulations to the wanderlust team - they did an awesome job!
Since the start of the year we've been praying the offering declaration prayers (found here) at Grace Center and at emanate. Today was a gifts and surprises day. In the middle of the afternoon, a package was delivered addressed to me. Upon opening it I found this:
Inside was a beautiful wrist watch and a thoughtful letter from someone who attended emanate years ago and was reflecting on the goodness of God in his life and wanted to share some of it with me.
Ironically, I don't actually wear a watch. But what's funny about that is just last week I began shopping for one but couldn't find one I liked. And today, voila!
Well this was a first for me. Earlier this year I flew out to Charlotte, NC to spend a few days filming for Sid Roth's TV show It's Supernatural which airs to a staggeringly huge audience. I've only done one other TV show but that was with Patricia King whom I've known for nearly 19 years. This was a completely different situation.
I had fun, Sid is lovely and despite the fact that some of the re-enactments make me squirm and I HAD TO SING LIVE ON THE AIR EVEN THOUGH I COULDN'T HEAR MYSELF OR REMEMBER THE WORDS, I think they've done a great job talking about what God's done in my life. You can watch the video here.
